“ I don’t really search for a job. All I do is to update my profile on Naukri and I wait for the calls – and believe me, I get more calls than I need” – A Developer with 4 years experience.

There are several job boards or web-sites where companies can post the open positions. But candidates – particularly the good ones don’t really “search” – they passively wait to be found by a recruiter. So it can be safely concluded that a developer or a tester with less than 10 years experience would default to this model. I thought that “Naukri” is where most recruiters would go to search for prospective candidates.

To learn the recruiters’ story ; I conducted a survey. Here are some insights based on the responses received from 36 IT recruiters.

IT Recruitment – Are Companies Walking Their Talk?

My Experience at TASCON’17

When I got to know TASCON’17 is happening in Bengaluru, I made sure to book my flight and a seat in the event. This was the first ever TASCON event there with a great line up of speakers and an opportunity to network with folks from Bengaluru and learn a lot of new things. My expectations were raised when I saw the turn up on the day of the event and I must say TASCON’17 lived up to it.

The Slow Death of a Recruitment Sourcer

It’s ironical that I’m posting this piece right after #tascon17 (talent acquisition and sourcing conference). After yesterday’s sessions at the conference and meeting with a few industry sourcing stalwarts, I’m forced to rethink the future of sourcers in recruitment function. I’m not exaggerating when I say the title of recruitment sourcers (sourcers as known in the recruitment parlance) will be non-existent by 2022.. perhaps by 2020 itself!
